2024: The Dead Zone

Oh snap! You weren’t looking for a horror movie were you?

Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Oh snap again! There is no good news here.

There is something you should be horrified by though. You know that dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico I am always going on about? Well according to the NOAA (article 1, article 2) that dead zone will be 300 square miles BIGGER than the State of Connecticut the summer of 2024.

For reference, Connecticut is 5,543 square miles.

So out of one of the most important fisheries serving the United States and the western hemisphere, where thousands of Atlantic Ocean species come to spawn, millions go to vacation, and hurricanes go to smash; 5,800 square miles will become a anoxic wasteland of death. I wonder how many shrimp, how many redfish, how many swordfish, how many… could live there?

Or not.

For those of you who haven’t found our site before, the worst part of this phenomena is that we know what causes it. We not only know what causes it. We know how to fix it.

It’s not even hard.

And it solves other problems.

And most of the methods I suggest would be profitable as fast or faster than most businesses if properly managed.

I have even taken the time to write outlines of the processes and procedures to build a successful business fixing this problem and literally gave it away.

I have asked, and am still asking for you to fund me, so I can do it myself.

This is a terrible problem, that would make a terrible movie no matter how well I design movie posters but, it is easily solvable. If you want to know how, check out the many articles and write ups at my River Refugium Project page. If you want someone else to make the problem go away, send me money through the donate link there.
